What clients say

Don't take my word for it

Quotes from the people I've actually built for. Real names, real businesses, real results.

"Brandon built me exactly what I needed — a clean site that captures leads automatically and a CRM that keeps the whole pipeline tidy. No agency runaround, no monthly subscriptions, just a tool that works. Wish I'd found him before I burned $8k on a WordPress site that broke every other week."

About Big Bear Marketing

Built by someone who runs a small business too

I'm Brandon Connor — Sydney-based, a decade deep across sales, marketing, and the kind of behind-the-scenes systems work that keeps a small business running. Big Bear Marketing is where all of that comes together.

I started this agency because I kept seeing the same problem: small businesses — tradies, service providers, solo operators — either had no web presence, or they had been stung by a $15k agency bill for a site that looked like a template and broke six months later.

I build every site by hand. No page builders, no bloated themes, no handoff to a junior offshore team. You work with me directly from first call to go-live. If something needs fixing after launch, I'm the person who picks up the phone.

Born to Build (Nathan's site) is the proof of concept. 28 deliverables. End-to-end build. $18-25k of agency-grade work. That's the standard I hold myself to.

No fluff, no jargon Plain language, honest scope, realistic timelines. Every time.
Fast, not rushed Most projects delivered in 6–10 weeks. Quality doesn't take 6 months.
Yours to keep You own the code. No platform lock-in, no monthly hostage fees.

Common questions

Stuff small business owners actually ask

If your question isn't here, message me directly and I'll write back within one business day.

How much does a custom small-business website cost?

It depends on scope, but here is the honest range:

  • $5,000 — Starter: a single landing page, hand-coded, with a contact form and basic SEO.
  • $12,000 — Standard: a full multi-section site, lead capture wired up, email routing, and animations.
  • $25,000 — Premium: the full website plus a built-in admin dashboard and mini-CRM (so you do not need HubSpot or Trello).

Every project starts with a free quote conversation. Most clients land within these tiers within 30 minutes of talking through scope.

Why not just use Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress?

Those tools are great for hobby sites and template-driven projects. They are not great when you need:

  • A site that loads fast on mobile (page builders are bloated).
  • Custom logic — like a quote calculator, multi-stage form, or CRM integration.
  • To own your code so you can move providers without rebuilding from scratch.

I hand-code every site so it is fast, accessible, easy to maintain, and yours. No platform lock-in.

How long does a project take?

Most projects deliver in 6 to 10 weeks from the signed quote. Starter sites are faster (2 to 4 weeks). The biggest delays are usually waiting on content, images, or feedback from your end — if you are responsive, we ship faster.

I will give you a realistic timeline in the quote, not an optimistic one.

Who actually does the work?

Me. From first call to go-live, you talk to one person and that person is doing the build. No offshore subcontractors, no juniors, no "account manager" who relays messages.

This is also why my pricing is what it is — there is no agency margin, no overhead I am paying salaries on.

What happens after launch?

You get 30 days of post-launch bug-fix support at no extra cost. After that, ongoing support is on a separate retainer or hourly basis, depending on what you actually need.

You also get the source code and full ownership — so if you ever want to take it elsewhere, nothing is held hostage.

Do I need to provide my own content and copy?

You provide the raw material — services, prices, photos, the story of your business. I help shape it into copy that actually reads well on a website.

If you need full copywriting from scratch, that is an add-on (typically $1,500 to $3,000 depending on word count). Most clients have enough rough material that we just need to refine.

Can you integrate with Xero, Stripe, Mailchimp, etc.?

Yes. The most common integrations I have built or set up:

  • Xero (accounting sync, invoice automation)
  • Stripe (payments and subscriptions)
  • Twilio (SMS notifications)
  • Mailgun, SendGrid (transactional email)
  • Cloudflare (security, CDN, custom domain)
  • Webhooks for Zapier, Make, n8n (anything-to-anything plumbing)

If your stack uses something I have not touched before, I will research it and tell you upfront if it is a fit.

What do you need from me to start?

Three things:

  1. An enquiry via the contact form so I have your project details in writing.
  2. A 30-minute call so we can talk through scope, timeline, and any tricky bits.
  3. A signed quote and 50% deposit to lock in your start date.

From there I provide a build calendar and weekly progress updates until go-live.
